Following is a list (although not exhaustive) of Privileges you will have:
1) YOU MAY be an ambassador of Christ at all times and in all situations, including your thoughts, attitudes, words and actions. You may study your Bible at any time to understand better how you can model Christ.
2) YOU MAY respect the leadership and decisions of the Adult Staff at all times. If you have a problem with their leadership, you may respectfully discuss the matter with them.
3) YOU MAY always put the needs and feelings of others above yourselves, serving one another in love.
4) YOU MAY choose to leave your valuable items at home to minimize the risk of things being misplaced, stolen or confiscated by Staff when deemed appropriate.
5) YOU MAY bring a pet with you, as long as it is furry and stuffed.
6) YOU MAY bring PRESCRIPTION medications, of which a list is given to Staff. Staff will provide you with a safe place to store your medications. You may also assume that any other mind or body-altering substances are NOT allowed.
7) YOU MAY report to the Staff any medical conditions you currently have that they will need to know about and take into consideration in trip planning.
8) YOU MAY care for your safety by staying in the group and presence of Staff at all times so that they always know your whereabouts, as required by our Church and by our Host organization.
9) YOU are highly encouraged to develop close friendships with all members of our group, and to become friends with those whom we are serving. This does NOT include any type of boyfriend/girlfriend exclusive relationships, spending the majority of your time with only one or two people, and the like. We are a group, and you will be expected to serve and act as a group at all times.
10) YOU MAY wear any clothing that is modest and respects the privacy of yourself and others . All Staff decisions regarding dress are final. If you have a question about it, then it’s most likely not appropriate!
a. Tank tops are allowed as long as they are 3” wide on the shoulder. This does not include halter tops. (girls)
b. Clothing that completely covers the stomach area. No cut-offs. Please wear shirts that do not show cleavage.
c. You may wear boxers as long as they do not show underneath your pants.
d. Shorts should be modest length (at least half-way down on thigh).
11) YOU MAY stay with the host family provided to you and let them know when you are headed back from the Saturday evening activity.
12) YOU MAY stay at the Saturday evening activity venue for the designated time and enjoy board games or other planned activities. Staff will be monitoring doors and appreciate your cooperation. Should you need to leave early make sure your chaperone is with you and your host knows to expect you. Please do not plan alternate activities on Saturday evening.
13) YOU MAY give your undivided attention to the person speaking up front. Although paper bibles are preferred, you may use a bible app on your phone if you do not have a paper bible, BUT, you will be asked to put your phone/device away if a chaperone or staff member believes that it is being used to distract you or others at any time.
14) YOU MAY understand that all these privileges are afforded to you in order to :
a. Encourage group unity
b. Protect your purity
c. Encourage you to live out a positive example of Christ
d. Encourage respect for one another and for authority figures
e. Enable you to understand the great witness potential you have in serving others and not yourself.
